Officials say the remains of a 30-year-old male were found north of the westbound lane of Plank Road on post around 3 p.m.
The United States Army Criminal Investigative Command - or CID - is currently investigating.
Officials say they're treating the case as a homicide.
Positive identification of the remains has not been made, and investigators say they've not determined if the person was affiliated with the military.
