Troubleshooter: AT and T wire problem

CARY

Everything started when the Laroia's lost phone service and needed a new line.

Service was restored, and a new line was installed but that line was never buried. The line starts at the side of the house and keeps going, going and going.

Shashi Laroia, along with her neighbors, are fed up with the AT&T wire setting above ground.

"Our neighbors cut the grass and our wire gets cut and we don't have service," Laroia explained.

She says it has been above ground for more than two months and she has called AT&T several times.

"We call the repair department, and they tell us they will be here within a week's time," Laroia said. "We keep calling and we call customer service to complain, and they tell us don't call us, call the repair department."

Laroia said she did know who to turn to. "I watch ABC all the time," she added, "So I thought maybe you could help us and resolve the problem."

ABC11 Eyewitness News I-Team Troubleshooter Diane Wilson got in touch with AT&T and within a day, crews were at Laroia's house to bury hers and her neighbor's wire.

"Wow! It finally happened," she exclaimed.

A representative with AT&T thanked ABC11 for bringing the issue to their attention.
