Sheriff: Man killed, body burned

HARNETT COUNTY

Sheriff Larry Rollins said Wednesday the investigation began when his deputies took a missing persons report Monday, November 1.

Family members reported 35-year-old Jeffrey Thomas Lynn of 194 Anderson Creek School Road in Bunnlevel missing.

He was last seen Friday, October 29. Lynn’s vehicle and an ATV were also missing.

Tuesday morning, deputies got a call about human remains in a wooded area off Alex Ryan Lane in Spring Lake - about five miles from Lynn's house.

Deputies say they identified the remains as that of Lynn and that the body had been burned.

Now, Rollins says two men are charged in the death: 19-year-old Stevie Eric Ryan Jr. and 18-year-old Jesse Lee Wiseman.

Rollings says Lynn was killed at his home and his body then burned in his back yard before it was taken to the location where it was found.

Ryan - of 234 Meadowcroft Drive, Fayetteville - is charged with first-degree murder, conceal/fail to report death, two counts of burglary, two counts of breaking and entering into a building, two counts of larceny and two counts of possession of stolen motor vehicle.

He's being held without bond.

Wiseman - of 195 Lakeview Drive Spring Lake - is charged with accessory after the fact to murder, conceal/fail to report a death, breaking and entering, larceny, and possession stolen property.

He's also being held without bond.
