A UNC women's basketball player has officially kicked off her "Comeback Kids Fund," in an effort to help fight pediatric cancer.

The gala will kicked off a season-long effort that will allow fans to honor UNC Women's basketball player Jessica Breland’s comeback by making a donation to the Jessica Breland Comeback Kids Fund.

Jessica Breland, a 6-foot-3 forward from Kelford, NC , is at the top of her game and looking forward to her senior season as a leader in the UNC Women’s Basketball Program. But she doesn’t take anything for granted. Having sat out last season while undergoing treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma at UNC, she’s thankful for the team at the N.C. Cancer Hospital and wants to give kids with cancer the same shot at a comeback that she’s been working toward ever since her diagnosis.

The Jessica Breland Comeback Kids Fund honors Jessica’s spirit of courage, strength and hope, providing support for cancer research and treatment at UNC’s pediatric oncology program.
