They say he had sex with a 14-year-old girl.
Edwards has denied he had sex with the girl, but investigators say a medical exam showed evidence of sexual activity.
The victim says the encounters occurred between August 1 and August 31 of 2010 at Edwards' home.
Edwards is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.
