An overnight burglary in an occupied home has triggered a crime alert in Cary.

Cary Police say a home in Lochmere Village was broken into Wednesday night.

Residents were at home at the time of the burglary.

Police say the suspect or suspects entered the home on Vinecrest Street through the victims' screen porch.

A large, light colored truck or SUV was seen leaving the area.

Police are also investigating two other burglaries on King George Loop and Borne Wood Drive.

So far there is no word if those two are related to the one on Vinecrest.

Bourne Wood Drive is very near Vinecrest.

Police remind residents to keep doors and windows locked, and to use exterior lights and variable light timers and motion sensors.

They also recommend keeping trees and bushes trimmed near doors and windows and working with neighbors to watch out for suspicious activity.
