Man exposes himself to girl inside store

DURHAM

Authorities say 47-year-old Enrique Montano is charged with felony indecent exposure and taking indecent liberties with a child.

ABC11 Eyewitness News spoke with the victim's mother, who asked we did not use her name to protect her daughter's identity. She says Montano exposed himself in a toy aisle at the Target store off 15-501 in Durham.

The mother says she is outraged by what happened to her daughter.

The victim's mother said, "Out of the corner of her eye she saw something and when she turned he had exposed himself to her. He said, you know, 'come here,' and she said, 'no I have to go!' and she ran right away."

The mother quickly notified Target security and Durham Police.

She is suggesting caution to other parents. "I'm really open with my daughter and my son and encourage them there's no fear. Tell your mom and dad or scream or yell. Don't be fearful if you're in a public place. This person cannot take you without being noticed."

Police say Montano is also facing charges for taking indecent liberties with a child under the age of 12 for an incident at a Golden Corral in August of 2009.

He is currently locked up under a $1 million bond.
