Fuquay-Varina police say they won't bring charges against a teacher who hit a student crossing the road in front of Fuquay-Varina High School last Wednesday.

Eighteen-year-old Jorge Chavarria was struck crossing North Broad Street just after 7 a.m. He later died at WakeMed.

Police identified the driver as 51-year-old Robert Ken Lee of Raleigh. Lee is an instructor at Fuquay-Varina High, who specializes in helping disadvantaged students.

Fuquay-Varina police say they've completed their investigation, and after talking with witnesses and examining the evidence, there will be no charges filed in the case.
