DNA links man to more rapes

The Carrboro Police Department says investigators have linked a Burlington man to two more rapes through DNA analysis.

Frank Cruz, 33, of 224 Rolling Road, Burlington, was originally arrested October 21 and charged with a sexual assault in March, 2006.

Now, he's charged in a November, 2005 attack with second-degree rape, first-degree burglary, first-degree kidnapping, second-degree sexual offense (two counts), attempted second-degree sexual offense and communicating threats.

The second new case occurred in January of 2006 and the charges include: second-degree rape (three counts), first-degree burglary, first-degree kidnapping, second-degree sexual offense (three counts), attempted second-degree sexual offense and communicating threats.
