Lindsay Nichole Noble, 20, of Lake Hill Drive, is charged with felony embezzlement.
According to a search warrant filed in Wake County, Noble reported to police that the Best Western Hotel on New Bern Avenue was robbed at gunpoint January 14.
She claimed a man came into the lobby, pointed a gun at her, and demanded she give him money without saying anything.
But in a surveillance tape from the hotel, Noble is heard talking to someone on the phone. She tells the person to "hurry up" before a man enters the lobby wearing a Spider Man mask and gloves. The man is unarmed and Noble hands him cash from the register without him directing her to do anything.
The warrant states detectives searched Noble's apartment and found a Spider Man mask.
