The body of 22-year-old Aimee Lynn Pitt was discovered at her home at 1209 Newsome Street January 21.
Pitt lived at the home with her boyfriend, Ben Harrelson.
Authorities say she hadn't been seen since Dec. 30 and was reported missing by her father on Jan. 3.
Search warrants state detectives interviewed Harrelson about Pitt on January 3 and he told them Pitt stayed up late while he went to bed.
However, when police interviewed him again on Jan. 8, he told them Pitt was drunk and that they had a fight and she left.
The next day, the warrants say Harrelson tried to kill himself by crashing his car.
The documents also indicate Harrelson asked a friend if he could have access to his farmland the day Pitt disappeared and visited a friend that night.
"This contradicts Harrelson's statement that he went home after work and did not leave his residence," reads the warrant.
Harrelson was taken to the Pitt County Memorial Hospital after he was involved in a car accident Jan. 8. He was released Friday morning.
He has not been charged with any crime.
