Officers were called to 134 Mill Dam Lane around 9:50 p.m. Saturday.
They found 46-year-old Edward Lee Brewington lying on the floor of a home with gunshot wounds.
He was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville for treatment.
He died at 12:24 a.m. Monday morning.
