Volunteers spent much of Tuesday clearing debris from the neighborhood next to Shaw University.
"Southeast Raleigh is my neighborhood, so I'm here to help out and assist," volunteer Demetrius Hunter said.
"I live by Five Points and I'm currently unemployed and thought this was a good way to spend my time," volunteer Ellen Osbourne said.
Other groups and organizations also volunteered to come out and help.
"Our boss Dave Olsen just told everybody we are volunteering today," volunteer Benjamin Hooker said. "I don't mind doing it, I like helping everybody, everybody needs it.
If you would like to volunteer to help pick up the pieces, the City will be moving to communities around Raleigh in the coming days.
