Firefighters work to mop up the aftermath of a house fire

A large fire tore through a Garner home Saturday afternoon, leaving the building destroyed, but causing no injuries.Firefighters first got the call just before 2:00 p.m.

By the time they arrived at the home on Black Angus Drive, it was fully engulfed.

A total of 35 firefighters and EMS crews responded to the scene, with the Cleveland Fire Department taking the lead, and Clayton providing mutual aid.

One person home at the time of the fire. A family dog was said to have alerted the teenager.

No injuries were reported, and residents will be staying with family.

A cause has not yet been determined.
