Dallas Sherwood "Sweet" Stevens, 62, went missing from the Aversboro Assisted Living Center on Sunday.
Authorities issued an alert for Stevens because he was believed to be suffering from some type of cognitive impairment that required medication.
Police said Stevens' body was found just after 10:30 a.m. Monday in a small pasture just off NC 50 Hwy. A cause of death has not been determined.
