Durham police arrested a man Wednesday in connection with a September shooting that injured 8 people.

The shooting happened in the 1100 block of Delano Street on September 5, 2010. Witnesses told police multiple suspects fired shots into a crowd of more than 70 people. Reports initially said 10 people were injured but investigators later determined that number was incorrect, reducing it to eight.

The victims included seven males and one female ranging in age from 19 to 45 years old.

Marquette Travon Williams, 23, is charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.

He also was arrested for failure to appear in court on earlier charges of carrying a concealed weapon and felony fleeing to elude arrest. In addition, he was arrested on out-of-county charges of attempted murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Williams was placed in Durham County Jail under a $2,110,000 bond.
