Man shot and killed in Wake County

WAKE COUNTY Santiago Hernandez-Arredondo, 44, was shot and killed inside a home in the 4000 block of Durham Road near Highway 98 Sunday morning.

Pedro Tur Fernandez, 18, was arrested and charged with murder and conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He is currently in jail under no bond.

Fernandez's stepfather, Tirso Mondragon-Cuevas, 43, and Fernandez's uncle Rene Mendoza Lopez, 30, have also been arrested in connection with Hernandez-Arredondo's death.

Both are charged with conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and accessory after the fact to murder. They are currently in jail under a $1.5 million secured bond.

Authorities have not released a motive for the shooting or how the suspects may have known the victim. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
