Authorities involved in standoff over warrant

WAKE COUNTY

Authorities from both Wake and Granville counties, along with SWAT team members descended on a home in the 9000 block of Pageland Court off Bold Run Hill Road north of Wake Forest around 11 a.m.

The incident stems from a warrant issued for a woman. Officials would not release the woman's name or details surrounding the warrant.

However, a neighbor told ABC11 that the woman was "mentally ill" and known for causing disturbances. He said she has been the focus of multiple neighbor complaints for years.

A repairman who was at the woman's home when deputies arrived said that the woman went for her gun and warning the deputy not to come inside her house.

The repairman said the officer told her not to point the gun and to put it down.

After three hours, the standoff ended peacefully.

The woman was taken away in ambulance, but it is unclear if she was injured.
