Officials said Bus 736 was turning on to Woodhaven Drive from Russell Road when the driver lost control and the vehicle slid off the road.
There were seven students on the bus at the time.
Video from the scene showed heavy front end damage to the bus.
A Durham schools spokesperson said the driver was charged with unsafe movement.
