Police were called to the Reserve at Carrington Apartments off South Reilly Road Friday night after someone reported hearing two to three gunshots. Upon arrival, police discovered a Cadillac SUV outside an apartment building and two victims.
The body of 56-year-old Raymond Thompson was found inside the SUV.
Officers discovered 41-year-old Clyde Cobb lying not far from the vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. Cobb, a master sergeant stationed at Fort Bragg, was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he's listed in critical condition.
Cobb lived in the complex, while Thompson, a retired command sergeant major in the Army, lived in Raeford.
At this point, police said they are not sure who shoot whom first, but said they're not looking for any other suspects in the case.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Fayetteville Police.
