A pedestrian hit and killed by a vehicle on the beltline Saturday, was involved in another crash.

Raleigh Police say around 2 a.m., Bruce Huffman, Jr., 32, lost control of his car on I-440 eastbound, ran off the road into the shoulder and hit a tree.

Then around 5 a.m., authorities say Huffman was walking in the center lane of interstate 440 eastbound in the area of Six Forks Road and Wake Forest Road when a truck hit him.

The freeway was shut down for much of the morning, but has since re-opened.

There is no word if charges will be filed.

It's not clear why Huffman was in the road.
