Taco Bell in Fayetteville robbed Tuesday morning before opening

A fast food restaurant in Fayetteville was robbed Tuesday morning shortly before opening.

It happened just after 9:30 a.m. at the Taco Bell location on Raeford Road.

Authorities said a suspect entered the restaurant, grabbed one of the employees and demanded money from the business after threatening the employee.

When the manager complied, the suspect left the building with an undisclosed amount of cash and personal items belonging to the employees.

The suspect also stole one of the employee's car, a 2005 Hyundai Elantra, and drove away from the scene.

Officers found the car a short time later abandoned along Marlborough Road.

The suspect is described as an African American man standing 5'8" to 5'10" tall, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue baseball cap, dark colored pants and black and white sneakers. He also had a red bandanna across his face.
