Fayetteville Police said 73-year-old Clare Deangelis of Fort Myers Florida, died Friday morning after being hit Thursday night on Cedar Creek Road and Decent Drive.
Police said Deangelis and her husand, 71-year-old George Deangelis, were trying to cross Cedar Creek Road around 7:40 p.m. when a 2003 Chevrolet pickup, driven by 38-year-old Samuel Gilmore, struck them.
The couple was taken to Cape Far Valley Medical Center. As of Friday morning, George Deangelis was still in critical condition.
Gilmore was not injured.
Police have not filed any charges at this time.
