Authorities in Fayetteville have arrested a man after he allegedly held his ex-girlfriend against her will for five days.

The victim told police officers that her ex-boyfriend broke into her home last Tuesday. She said over the five-day period, the suspect assaulted her on more than one occasion.

On Sunday night, the victim managed to get away from the suspect and call police.

Police arrested 22-year-old Christopher James Woodson on Monday morning and charged him with malicious assault in secret, felony breaking and entering, assault on a female, felonious restraint, and communicating threats.

Police said the identity of the victim is not being released, because of the nature of the crime.
