The crash happened on Lake Wheeler Road near the intersection of Stewart Drive between I-40 and Tryon Road.
The BMW ran off the road and hit a ditch before slamming into the pole.
The driver has not been identified, but she is expected to be okay.
The utility pole was barely standing, when crews were called out to fix it.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
