NCCU basketball player accused of selling marijuana

Authorities arrested Justin Leemow, a senior at NCCU, on Saturday with 393 grams of marijuana in his possession.

He’s charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/ or distribute a controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or other place for the sale of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to an arrest warrant obtained by ABC11, Leemow is accused of selling marijuana out of his apartment on Penrith Drive. The warrant states he was arrested with more than 13 ounces of marijuana and a digital scale and plastic baggies.

Leemow is a sociology major from Brooklyn, N.Y., according to a basketball roster posted on NCCU’s website. He wears number 5 and plays guard for the NC Central basketball team.

A spokesperson for the university said Leemow has been suspended for violating team rules.

He was released from jail on Sunday, after posting a $1,000 bond.

Leemow is scheduled to appear in court Monday at the Durham County Courthouse.
