Officers are looking for 21-year-old Dante Lamar Terrell of Crest Street.
The warrants charge him with one count of murder and one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Detectives said Monday that it appeared two men were walking down Crest St. close to Duke's west campus when shots were fired from a car.
Police have identified the dead man as 25-year-old Nigel Scarlett. The second man, 26-year-old Kevin Davis, was taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment.
