Child rushed to hospital, police investigating

Authorities in Fayetteville are investigating why a child had to be rushed to the hospital Tuesday night.

Police received a call about "suspicious activity" at the Highland Lodge Apartments on Raeford Road shortly after 10:30 p.m.

After arriving at the scene, officers immediately roped off the area with crime scene tape, as investigators began questioning other residents in the complex.

Paramedics were seen carrying a small child into an ambulance, before speeding off to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with its lights and siren on.

Further details about the incident have not been released at this time.
