Man who allegedly impaled puppy with knife caught

CUMBERLAND COUNTY

Authorities arrested 27-year old Cory Lashan Price, of Leona Avenue in Fayetteville, at his home on Wednesday, according to the Fayetteville Observer.

Price was allegedly arguing with his girlfriend on Jan. 13, 2011 when she told him to leave. As he was leaving, deputies say Price tossed their eight-week-old pit bull puppy in the air and impaled it with a knife.

When Animal Control investigators got to the scene, they found the injured puppy hiding in the backyard.

The puppy was taken to a veterinarian, but was later euthanized because of the severity of its injuries.

Price is charged with felony cruelty to animals. He has been released from the Cumberland County jail on $5,000 bail.
