Several employees say they were told 500 or so jobs could be cut. However, officials at PNC will not confirm any numbers with ABC11. They will only say there will be layoffs but some of those positions aren't filled. Other employees will be offered other jobs at the company.
The layoffs will come in March, after PNC will officially acquire RBC.
RBC has offices all over Raleigh and a call center in Rocky Mount. There are about 1,500 employees total in both areas.
PNC say they'll also be hiring when the merger is done in March.
