Friends, family remember Elizabeth Molloy

RALEIGH

The 17-year-old Millbrook High School student died in a suspected drunk driving accident last Saturday morning.

Authorities said she was killed instantly when the SUV she was riding in smashed into a tree.

Her friend and classmate 16-year old Garrett Prince was behind the wheel. Officers said Prince was going at least 75 miles per hour in a 30 mph residential zone when the accident happened. Prince was hurt, but survived the wreck.

Four days after the accident, hundreds arrived at Saint Raphael Catholic Church on Falls of Neuse Road to mourn Molloy.

Many of her classmates wore pink - Molloy's favorite color - as they remembered the friend they called Liz.

Meanwhile, Prince remains in the Wake County jail. He faces a list of charges including felony death by motor vehicle, DWI, and possession of marijuana.

Price was in court Tuesday to face a misdemeanor probation violation stemming from a burglary charge last year. He could spend up to eight years behind bars.
