Police said Malloy - 17-year-old Millbrook High School student - was killed when the SUV she was riding in smashed into a tree. It happened around 2 a.m. Saturday in the 6700 block of Rainwater Road.

The unidentified 911 caller said the vehicle was a green Jeep Grand Cherokee, and attempted to give directions to where it was happening.

"Dude, he just raced off going 90," the caller said.

The caller didn't give his full name and hung up before the 911 operator could get more information. The 911 operator attempted to call back, but the call went to voicemail.

According to a crash report, Molloy's friend and classmate - 16-year old Garrett Prince - was behind the wheel. Officers said Prince was going at least 75 miles per hour in a 30 mph residential zone when the accident happened. Prince was hurt, but survived the wreck.

Prince remains in the Wake County jail. He faces a list of charges including felony death by motor vehicle, DWI, and possession of marijuana.
