Teen who died on Hwy 264 remembered

RALEIGH

Funeral services were held in Raleigh Sunday afternoon for Carol Stamper.

The Enloe High School sophomore was killed when the SUV she was riding in struck a guardrail and flipped.

Those who knew Stamper remember her as a pleasant and creative student who sang in chorus and performed in theater.

Seventeen-year-old Ashley Szymankiewicz is charged with causing the crash that killed Stamper.

She is charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
