Man accused of buying alcohol before fatal crash

RALEIGH

Anthony Du Juan Geter, 21, was arrested late Friday night by state Alcohol Law Enforcement agents.

According to arrest warrants obtained by ABC11, Geter helped four minors buy two 1.75-liter containers of Bacardi Dragon Berry from the Sandy Forks ABC store January 7. Two of those minors were 16-year-old Garrett Prince and 17-year-old Elizabeth Molloy.

Later that evening, Molloy was killed when the Jeep Grand Cherokee she was riding in smashed into a tree. It happened around 2 a.m. in the 6700 block of Rainwater Road.

According to a crash report, Prince - a classmate of Molloy's at Millbrook - was behind the wheel. Officers said Prince was going at least 75 miles per hour in a 30 mph residential zone when the accident happened. Prince was hurt, but survived the wreck.

Prince remains in the Wake County jail. He faces a list of charges including felony death by motor vehicle, DWI, and possession of marijuana.

Geter was released on $4,000 bond. He faces a possible fine and community service if convicted.

The ALE said it is continuing its investigation and expects to file more charges.
