A truck driving along a Johnston County roadway Thursday morning ended up flipping and crashing into a wooded area.

The accident happened around 11:30 a.m. along Johnston Parkway and Truck Stop Road just off I-95, about a mile southwest of Kenly.

The Nissan Frontier ended up flipping on to the driver side, trapping two passengers inside before coming to a rest among some trees.

It took rescue crews about 45 minutes to free the pair. They were air lifted to two different area hospitals with unknown injuries.

Authorities said the Frontier exited I-95 and failed to stop on the exit ramp, causing it to crash. The truck was the only vehicle involved in the accident.

Further details about the accident have not been released.
