CHAPEL HILL

The Chapel Hill Police Department was called to the 100 block of East Franklin Street near the Varsity Theater after someone called 911.

When officers arrived, they said they saw several people fighting and witnessed one suspect throw another to the ground.

Another suspect attempted to flee the scene on foot, but officers chased him down and took him into custody.

Two officers were slightly injured in the incident.

The suspect, Corey D. Mock was charged with simple affray as well as resist, obstruct and delay of a police officer. Mock was later released with a written promise to appear in court.

According to TarHeelBlue.com, the 21-year-old is a member of UNC's wrestling team. His father is the head coach of the team.

UNC confirmed Wednesday that Mock has been suspended indefinitely from the wrestling team.
