Two arrested in Chatham Co. home invasion

PITTSBORO

Tanner Kyle Morgan, 19, of Siler City, and Austin Terrell Savage, 18, of Pittsboro were arrested early Saturday morning.

Deputies were called to a home on Dave McCracken Road. A man reported that four men forced their way into his home around 9 p.m. Friday. The victim told deputies one of the suspects was armed with a shotgun and tied him up with duct tape. The suspect then went on to steal some undisclosed items from the man's home.

The victim was later untied and was not harmed during the incident.

Upon investigating, Chatham County deputies were led to the home of Morgan, which is on the same road as the home invasion.

That's where they found Morgan and Savage. Both men were arrested and charged with second degree burglary, second degree kidnapping, and robbery with a dangerous weapons--all felonies. Deputies also seized a shotgun during their investigation.

Both men are being held under $5,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in court March 5.

Authorities are still searching for two other men believed to be involved in the incident.
