Arrest made in serial bank robbery cases

RALEIGH

Arrest warrants were served on 36-year-old John Larry Morrison, who is also known as Ralph Linwood, of Greensboro.

The FBI said Morrison is believed responsible for two bank robberies. The first occurred Sept. 23, 2011 at the SunTrust in the 6300 block of Creedmoor Road in Raleigh. The second happened Nov. 25, 2011 at the SunTurst in the 1200 block of Northwest Maynard Road in Cary.

Morrison is currently behind held at the Durham County jail in connection with a robbery on Dec. 17, 2011, at a Rite Aid Drug Store. 

The FBI also said Morrison is no longer considered a suspect in the Wells Fargo bank robbery in Garner, on Jan. 19, 2012.
