Woman upset over mother's life insurance check

Andrea Wilson was owed her portion of her mother's life insurance policy from Globe Life Insurance, but for some reason she was the only one out of the three beneficiaries that didn't get it.

"The family was more like, 'you didn't get it yet?' And everyone else had already gotten theirs and they were like why isn't hers coming," Wilson said.

Her portion was a little over $3,000. Her mother passed in August and she said Globe Life Insurance told her they sent her a check, but it came back to them.

"They would say that they would issue another one, I'd have to wait 30 days from the previous one before they could put a stop payment on it," Wilson said. "Then after that if it didn't come after 30 days they would issue another one. And it was the same thing every time. If it doesn't come by whatever date it is, then we'll issue you another one."

After four months and no check, Wilson got in touch with me.

"It seemed like we weren't getting anywhere and you're like, really like famous for getting things done like you're supposed to and getting them done in like a decent amount of time. So, it was in our best interest," Wilson said.

A representative from Globe Life Insurance confirmed to me they did send the check three different times, but for some reason it was not getting to Wilson. This time they sent it Fed-Ex, and Wilson got it right away.

"Money came. Things happened like they were supposed to," she said. "Deposited it into my account. Paid off a few debts."

The rep for Globe Life Insurance said he doesn't know why Wilson didn't get the checks, as the last two checks were sent to the same address, they Fed-Exed the check that finally got to her.
