Durham neighborhood evacuated for suicide threat

Durham police officers evacuated part of a neighborhood Tuesday because a person was threatening suicide.

Durham police officers evacuated part of a neighborhood Tuesday because a person was threatening suicide.

It happened in the 100 block of West Lynch Street shortly after 10 a.m..

Homes in the immediate area were evacuated as a precaution.

The 100 blocks of West Lynch Street and West Seeman Street also had to be closed while authorities investigated.

Around noon, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team entered the home and found a man's body inside.

Further details have not been released.
