Authorities say 45-year-old Denise Henderson, of Smithfield, left her 11-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son home alone overnight the night of Feb. 22.
Henderson told police she was stuck at a friend's house.
Henderson has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor child abuse, driving while her license were revoked, and having an open container of alcohol on her vehicle during a traffic stop Monday.
She was placed in the Johnston County Jail under a $10,000 bond.
