Dunn officials say no to pit bull ban

DUNN, N.C.

The Dunn chief of police warned city leaders last week that pit bulls were becoming a big problem within the city limits. He wanted the city to pass an ordinance banning pit bulls.

However, council members instead decided to form a committee to study the problem and promised to work with the police chief to beef up the town's existing animal ordinance.

The city manager hopes to have recommendations ready before July 1.
