Police said when they arrived at the scene they found 29-year-old Calvin Johnson with a gunshot wound.

Johnson told authorities he was in a driveway with two friends when a silver-colored sedan -- possibly a 2008 Nissan Altima -- drove up and someone inside fired several shots at them.

No one else was injured, but bullets struck a nearby house and a car.

Johnston was taken to Cape Fear Valley Hospital for treatment.

An hour later -- shortly before 9 p.m. -- police received a call about shots being fired in the 1900 block of Ireland Drive.
