Twenty-six-year-old Jose Mendoza has been charged with murder.
U.S. marshals arrested Mendoza at the Red Roof Inn on N.C. Highway 55 around noon Wednesday.
Mendoza is being held without bond in the Durham County Jail.
Eyewitnesses reported about 30 gun shots near the intersection of Hearthside and Welsh Streets March 28.
Thirty-seven-year-old Jesus Conteras died and two other men suffered wounds that were not life-threatening.
