Children injured, one dead in crash

DURHAM

The accident happened on Junction Road near Ferrell Road around 11 p.m.

The NC Highway Patrol said 42-year-old Mark Early Henry was traveling north on Junction when he crossed the center line, hit another car, and died.

Five children were riding in his car, some of which were his.

Troopers said those children were not critically injured and believe Henry may have been intoxicated.

Family members told ABC11 that the other driver, 30-year-old Crystal Bright, was taken to the hospital with several broken bones.

Bright's two-year-old daughter suffered broken ribs and a spleen injury.

Both remain in the hospital, but relatives said they are expected to be okay.

Police have not determined why Henry was driving with the children or where he was coming from.
