Suspect arrested in Raleigh shooting

Raleigh police responded to a scene of a shooting Friday evening at an apartment complex.

Police said Nancy Pedraza was shot just before 10 p.m. at the complex in the 4900 block of Hollenden Drive, just off New Hope Road.

Pedraza is listed in critical condition.

Raleigh police said a homeless man has been arrested in connection with the shooting. Officials charged 23-year-old Anthony Villaroel with assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury.

Villaroel is being held on $200,000 bond.

Authorities told ABC11 Pedraza and Villaroel know each other, but have not released any other details.
