Fayetteville mall to get makeover

FAYETTEVILLE

Cross Creek Mall had a record year in 2010, and its management is looking to make the mall even more welcoming for shoppers in 2012.

The mall's manager said that since CBL & Associates bought Cross Creek in 2003, there have already been a number of improvements.

"We've opened over 40 new stores and restaurants. Plus we've remodeled countless stores. So that in of itself was a big part of what the customers experienced," Cross Creek Mall manager, Matt Holligan said. "Now it's time for us to do our part to take it to the next level."

The plan is to enhance the food court, as well as add a new play area for children. Money will also be spent on upgrading the restrooms and adding new furniture.

Renovations will begin in June and should be finished by Thanksgiving, just in time for the holiday shopping season.
