Deputies said it happened in the parking lot of the Halifax Regional Medical Center. They did not identify the alleged kidnapping victim.
According to investigators, the woman said Bridgers forced her to drive to I-95 and then attempted to cause the car to crash. The victim was able to get out of the car and flag down another vehicle for help.
Bridgers allegedly then attempted to run the victim and the Good Samaritans down with the victim's car. They were able to get out of the way and Bridgers sped off.
Deputies have warrants charging Bridgers with assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, larceny of a motor vehicle and communicating threats.
He's 27 years old, 6'1", and 175 pounds. He was last seen driving the victim's silver 2000 Saturn with North Carolina license plate ABS-3104.
Anyone who sees Bridgers is asked to call 911 right away.
