A barricade situation in Fayetteville ended with a suspect in police custody Friday. It happened at a home in the 1300 block of Turnpike Road in the city's Haymount neighborhood.

The situation ended just before 5 p.m. when 27-year-old David William Covington turned himself into police.

Police were first called to the home because a person was shot there and taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center earlier Friday afternoon. That person has been identified as 29-year-old Jason McKnight. Police said his injuries were considered non-life threatening.

Covington was already on electronic monitored house arrest pending a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the death of Charles Green on February 12, 2011.

Covington is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center.
