Twitter will begin offering its users a "do not track" option in order to better protect their privacy.

The San Francisco company announced the new feature Friday.

The feature prevents web sites from using cookies to track your personal information and online movement.

To opt into the service on Twitter, you must select the "do not track" feature within the Firefox browser.
